The Story Behind the Logo

More Than a Logo

The R4 Style logo isn’t branding for branding’s sake.

It’s a story — one shaped by lived experience, hard truths, and the quiet courage it takes to keep moving forward when life breaks open.

Every line, color, and symbol reflects the journey I share in On the Other Side of the Street and the framework that grew from it. This logo is not decorative. It’s directional.

It reminds us where we’ve been — and where we’re going.

The Rising Sun

The rising sun represents renewal.

After years when I wasn’t sure there would be another chapter — another morning that felt worth stepping into — the sunrise became a powerful reminder: even after the darkest seasons, a new day still arrives.

The sun symbolizes:

  • Hope after loss

  • Possibility after collapse

  • Light returning, slowly and honestly

It doesn’t rush the darkness away.
It simply shows up.

Just like healing.

The Walker

The figure mid-step in the logo is intentional.

The walker represents movement — not arrival.

It’s me.
And it’s you.

Healing doesn’t happen all at once. Reinvention doesn’t require a leap. It happens one step at a time — sometimes shaky, sometimes unsure, but always forward.

The walker reminds us:

  • You don’t have to run

  • You don’t have to know the whole path

  • You only need to take the next step

Standing still isn’t failure.
Choosing to move — even slowly — is courage.

The Crosswalk

The crosswalk is the heart of the logo.

It reflects the central metaphor of On the Other Side of the Street: that moment when you’re no longer who you were, but not yet who you’re becoming.

The crosswalk represents transition — the space between endings and beginnings.

Transformation isn’t a jump.
It’s a crossing.

The Four Stripes — The 4Rs

Each stripe in the crosswalk represents one of the four stages of R4 Style:

  • Rock Bottom — where truth arrives and illusions fall away

  • Recovery — where rebuilding begins, slowly and honestly

  • Resilience — where strength is formed by staying and showing up

  • Reinvention — where you step into a life shaped by truth

The stripes remind us that progress happens in stages — and that every stage matters.

The Color Palette

The R4 Style colors were chosen with intention.

  • Cognac (#A0402C) — strength, groundedness, and the courage to take the next step

  • Gold (#D17B45) — warmth, hope, and the quiet glow of possibility

  • Light Beige (#FAF5EF) — openness, clarity, and space to breathe

  • Deep Charcoal (#222222) — grounding, truth, and where the journey begins

Together, they tell a story of contrast and balance — shadow and light, struggle and hope.

What the Logo Is Meant to Do

The R4 Style logo is a reminder.

That you weren’t meant to stay at the curb.
That progress is possible, even when it’s slow.
That your story is still unfolding.

Wherever you are on your own crosswalk, I’m grateful you’re here.

Let’s keep walking.
