I’m Rob Quinn, MS — a long-term HIV survivor, educator, and the author of
On the Other Side of the Street: A Life Chosen—Because You Weren’t Meant to Stay at the Curb.

R4 Style isn’t just a philosophy to me. It’s how I survived.
It’s how I learned to rise.
And it’s how I now serve others.

My life changed when an HIV diagnosis unraveled the future I thought I was building. What followed were years of loss, addiction, recovery, and the slow rebuilding of a life that finally felt like my own. Out of that journey came R4 Style — a framework shaped entirely by lived experience.

R4 Style is built around four stages we all move through when life breaks us open and asks us to begin again:

Rock Bottom
The moment when truth arrives and the old story can no longer continue.

Recovery
The slow, brave work of choosing healing — one honest step at a time.

Resilience
The strength that grows when you stay, even on the days hope feels far away.

Reinvention
The freedom to step forward and build a life shaped by everything you’ve survived.
