Begin Where You Are

If this is your first visit to R4 Style, you do not need to understand the entire framework before beginning.

You may be standing at the curb, only beginning to recognize what has changed. You may already be somewhere in the crosswalk, moving through uncertainty without knowing exactly where the path will lead. Or you may be learning how to live on the other side of a change that has already reshaped your life.

There is no right place to be.

Begin with where you are.

If you are trying to understand what is happening, The Crossing introduces the central metaphor behind R4 Style: the curb, the crosswalk, and the other side of the street.

If you want to understand the framework itself, The Four R’s explores Rock Bottom, Recovery, Resilience, and Reinvention as recurring realities rather than steps or stages.

If you prefer story, The Crossing Trilogy explores these ideas through lived experience—from disruption and survival to rebuilding and continued becoming.

And if you would rather enter quietly, Notes from the Crosswalk offers shorter reflections on change, recovery, resilience, identity, aging, community, purpose, and the ordinary moments that shape us.

You do not need a perfect plan.

Sometimes the most meaningful beginning is simply acknowledging what is true today and asking what one honest next step might look like.
