I created R4 Style to offer a compassionate way of understanding the transitions that reshape our lives. It grew from my experiences with HIV, AIDS, addiction recovery, disability, grief, aging, and retirement, but it was never meant to make my life the model for anyone else. My journey illuminates the framework; every person who recognizes part of their own story within it expands its meaning.
My mission is to create language and conversation that reduce isolation and help people navigate change with greater honesty, dignity, and hope. I value compassion, empathy, authenticity, accessibility, connection, education, and respect for the different ways people survive, recover, adapt, and rebuild. My vision is a community in which lived experience is recognized as a source of insight and no one is expected to cross alone.
R4 Style is not therapy, medical advice, a self-help program, or a promise that every crossing will be easy. It is an invitation to notice where we are, listen to one another, and remain open to what may still be possible. That purpose is reflected in the words that guide everything I do: We Talk. We Share. We Learn.
What kind of language or support helps you feel less alone when life changes direction?
The meaning behind the R4 Style logo shows how recognition, movement, and possibility come together in one visual symbol.
