When I began writing, I wasn't planning a trilogy.
I was trying to understand my own life.
As I wrote, I realized that no single book could capture what it means to move through disruption, rebuild, and continue becoming. Each manuscript explored a different part of the same journey. Together, they became The Crossing Trilogy.
While each book stands on its own, they are connected by one central idea:
Every meaningful change begins with a crossing.
Every crossing begins with a decision.
This first book introduces the metaphor at the heart of R4 Style. It explores the moment we recognize that life has changed and the courage it takes to step away from what is familiar. More than a story about survival, it is an invitation to believe that another life is possible—even when we cannot yet see it.
This is where the crossing begins.
Crossing the street is not the end of the journey.
Once we arrive on the other side, a different question emerges:
Now what?
This book explores the work of rebuilding after disruption. It reflects on identity, purpose, relationships, aging, recovery, and the quiet process of creating a meaningful life after surviving what once seemed impossible.
This is where rebuilding begins.
Life never stops asking us to grow.
The third book reflects on what it means to continue becoming through the later chapters of life.
It embraces aging not as an ending, but as another opportunity to deepen our understanding of resilience, purpose, gratitude, and presence.
We are never finished becoming.
Although each book explores a different season of life, they are all part of the same conversation.
A conversation about change.
About resilience.
About hope.
About discovering that the person waiting on the other side of life's hardest crossings is not someone new, but someone revealed through the journey itself.
Whether you're reading your first page or your third book, I hope you discover what I discovered:
The crossing never really ends.
It simply invites us to keep moving forward.

Rock Bottom • Recovery • Resilience • Reinvention
