Opening the Conversation

R4 Style has grown through reflection, writing, and lived experience.

It continues to grow through conversation.

I welcome opportunities to speak about this work—
not as a finished system,
but as an evolving understanding of what it means to rebuild a life after disruption.

What This Work Speaks To

At its core, R4 Style is grounded in lived experience.

It explores how people navigate:

  • Life after major disruption
  • Recovery as an ongoing, non-linear process
  • The development of resilience over time
  • Reinvention as something that unfolds, rather than something forced
  • The challenge of understanding experiences that don’t come with clear language

This work is not theoretical.

It comes from living through these experiences over time.

The Framework Behind the Work

R4 Style offers a way to understand life transitions through:

  • The Four R’s — Rock Bottom, Recovery, Resilience, Reinvention
  • The crossing — the movement from the curb, through the crosswalk, toward the other side of the street

These are not presented as solutions.

They are offered as language—
a way to make the experience more visible and more understandable.

Topics I Speak On

Conversations and interviews often center around:

  • Rebuilding life after disruption
  • Recovery without urgency
  • The development of resilience through lived experience
  • Reinvention as an ongoing process
  • The role of language and metaphor in understanding change
  • Writing from within the experience, rather than from distance

Each conversation is shaped by the context it enters.

Formats

I’m available for:

  • Podcast interviews
  • Print and digital media features
  • Guest articles and written contributions
  • Panel discussions
  • Community-based conversations

These are approached with the same intention as the rest of this work:

To stay grounded, honest, and reflective of real experience.

Who This Connects With

This work tends to resonate with audiences connected to:

  • Health and recovery communities
  • Mental health and wellness spaces
  • Community and residential organizations
  • Readers navigating major life transitions
  • Platforms focused on lived experience and storytelling

How I Approach Media Conversations

I don’t approach media as a way to promote a message.

I approach it as an extension of the work.

That means:

  • Staying within lived experience
  • Avoiding oversimplification
  • Allowing complexity to remain where it belongs
  • Speaking in a way that reflects how the process actually unfolds

Closing

At its core, this work is about making something often difficult to name more visible.

Media provides a way to extend that visibility—
not by simplifying the experience,

but by creating space for it to be understood more clearly.
